My Story
My Story
As a child, I lived with epilepsy, a condition that not only shaped my physical health but deeply influenced how I saw myself. I learned early on what it meant to feel different, to carry worry in silence and to navigate life with an overactive mind and a body I couldn’t always rely on.
Later, I found an outlet through music. I became a drummer in a touring band, chasing freedom and expression across stages and countries, it made me feel alive. It also introduced me to a lifestyle where alcohol, weed, and cocaine were always around, something that came with the territory.
Then came a decade-long career in live television, working behind the scenes as a Floor Manager and a Technical Studio Director. It was high-adrenaline, fast paced and relentlessly demanding.
After leaving the TV industry and looking for my next challenge, I found myself in recruitment, a place I didn’t really want to be. The world of people, pressure, and performance was familiar, but this hit differently.
For the first time in my career I was in direct competition with my colleagues, and the constant pressure to hit targets weighed heavily on me. And beneath it all, I carried those unhealed patterns from my childhood.
Patterns of rebellion that pulled me into unhealthy habits, weighed down with guilt and unresolved wounds. I was never a stranger to alcohol, weed, or cocaine, but this was the first time I leaned on them as a way to cope. What had once been a social element, slowly became a regular part of my life.
It wasn’t until I realised they were slowly eroding everything I had worked so hard to achieve, my work, my family and my health, that I knew something had to change.
My Journey to Rediscovery
After a disastrous work Christmas party in 2023, I knew something had to change. I could no longer pretend I was coping when deep down I knew I wasn’t. That night became the turning point that led me to reach out to a Cognitive Hypnotherapist.
My journey gave me the room I needed to slow down and really see myself. I was able to trace the patterns back to my childhood, understand the decisions I’d made, and finally acknowledge the trauma I was carrying.
The work I did with my therapist had such a profound impact that it ultimately set me on the same path. I went on to train with Trevor Silvester, gaining diplomas in Cognitive Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
My work now is about helping people come back to themselves, leaving behind the patterns that kept them stuck, and building a life beyond High-Functioning addiction.
